3 Months

*Brooklyn is showing us so much of her personality lately! She's so much more alert and aware of who's with her and what's around her. It's fun to watch her respond to people or toys, even the TV!
*She is definitely a home-body. This girl knows when she is at home. She smiles, coos, laughs... but when we take her out she gets very quiet. She'll usually just sit and look around. We try and try to get her to show off her smile to other people, but we're lucky if she gives us a quick, little one. And then literally the second we walk in the door, she comes alive and starts playing and "talking" again!
*The "talking" seems to happen most when Jason gets home from work. She's loves to talk to her Daddy and he can't get enough of that!
*I think she had a growth spurt this week. She was acting a little different, not quite herself... feeding more often, sleeping more sometimes, less other times, a little more fussy than normal... So of course I had to read about it :) And everything I read seemed to say that those are exactly the things that happen during a growth spurt. (It's funny- some of this stuff I know very well from being a pediatric nurse & I'd quickly be able to tell someone else "yeah, that's what it is", but with Brooklyn I feel like I don't know anything... I have to read and ask everyone I know to make sure I know what's going on!)
*She has gotten even more attached to her blanket when she's ready to sleep. Any soft blanket will do. As long as she can somehow get it over her eyes...
*She doesn't care for her tummy as much as she did the first month or so. We try tummy time now, but she's usually frustrated after just a few minutes.
*She loves colorful toys. Especially if they light up or play music. She also loves the links that the toys hang from. She's learned to grab on to them and pull. And she will stare at the mirror on her playmat for the longest time! And ceiling fans and lights keep her entertained.
*And lastly, one of the most exciting things... Brooklyn has slept through the entire night!!! It's not a consistent thing yet, but occasionally she will sleep 8-10 hours straight! Most of the time she goes to bed around 9-9:30. She usually gets up once during the night- around 1:30-2:30. And then she'll sleep 'til 7:00am.
I have realized that it's not how many hours of sleep you get, but how many consecutive hours of sleep that make you feel so much more rested. I am very thankful that she's such a good sleeper!
