We spent all day Wednesday at the hospital waiting to hear from doctors what the plan would be. They finally decided to transfer him to Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville that night with plans to have a stent placed Thursday morning. Brooklyn and I drove back home since there would be no where for us to stay in Nashville and since we were assured that he was in very stable condition. Jason rode in the ambulance with his dad while Charlotte and his sisters went home to shower and pack.
I texted Jason when we made it home and he called shortly after. I expected him to be checking in on us, but instead I heard silence... when he could finally talk, he told me that his dad had had another heart attack... in front of Jason... no one else was there yet... and they had quickly rushed his dad away.
The next few hours were VERY scary. But, very thankfully, they were able to place the stent that night, and he only improved from that point on. In fact, he was able to go home on Friday.
Jason stayed by his dad's side the entire time. He LOVES his daddy... that's so obvious. He stayed incredibly strong throughout a very difficult time. And as for my sweet father-in-law, he amazed me with how he handled it all... God's love and peace shined so brightly through him... as always.
And to make things just a little more crazy, Brooklyn ran a fever for the first time Thursday night (while Jason was still in Nashville) and I was supposed to work on Friday. Again, thankfully, everything worked out just fine. She did end up with a nasty cold, but Nana and Nanni took extra-good care of her for me on Friday. In fact, Friday ended up being one of her better days before her cold got worse.
This is Nana singing her to sleep.

During all the craziness, we were surrounded by amazing family and friends who were praying and surrounding us with so much love. We had tons of emails, texts, and phone calls... it's such a sweet reminder of how many wonderful people we have in our life.
So, Jason came home on Friday night... and we're gonna try to start our "normal, routine" week again!...
