Jason's mom and nephew came to visit on Friday and Saturday. Not long after they got here on Friday we headed to the ball field for a double-header. As soon as we got there I wondered what I must've been thinking because it was a HOT 90 degrees. But we came prepared with a make-shift "tent" for Brooklyn and thankfully it cooled off pretty quickly. Several of our friends came and it ended up being a really enjoyable night.
Saturday was very laid back- ran a few errands, rested, ... and took Brooklyn to the pool for the first time!
Check out that adorable bikini body!!!
Daddy only gave her toes a quick dip because the water was still a little cold

It wasn't too cold for Luke!
Nana keeping an eye on her girl
When we got home from the pool I noticed that there was a message on the answering machine. I hit the button while I was in the middle of doing something else, so I was only half-way paying attention, but I did happen to hear "reservations for 6:15"!
I quickly looked at Jason and asked if we had plans?- Yes. Do we have a babysitter?- Yes. Where are we going?- "Don't worry about it, it's all taken care of." FUN... I love surprises!
Brooklyn played with Nana and Kobe and then they had to head home. My mom showed up to keep Brooklyn. I got ready quickly and we headed out for a date night. We went to a delicious dinner at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. We had the best time just talking and laughing. Jason gave me a very sweet Mother's Day card and said he wanted to make sure that my first Mother's Day was very special and that I'd never forget it! In my mind he had already accomplished that... but little did I know there was more to come.
Sunday morning I went in to get Brooklyn just after 7 am. When I walked in her room I saw a card for "Mommy" propped on a jewelry box! I was SHOCKED... SURPRISE #2!!! Jason picked out a necklace that he said reminded him of Brooklyn's heart in mine.
This necklace will forever be special to me... I can't wait to tell Brooklyn about it... let her play dress-up with it... maybe even give it to her on her first Mother's Day.
Sunday afternoon we went to my Grandma's house for a big dinner. Brooklyn cuddled up in Grandma's lap for quite a while.
I truly could not have asked for a better Mother's Day.
Jason, thank you SO much for being so thoughtful. Thank you that it was important to you for this to be a memorable day for me. You FAR exceeded any expectations I had and it all means so much to me. I love you!
I don't even have the words to express how thankful I am for MY MOM. I hope that I can show true love to my daughter like she always has to me. (And I really wish I had a picture of us from today!!!)
Brooklyn, I have dreamed of being a mommy for as long as I can remember. God's plans for making that happen took longer than what I wanted, but the very first time I held you, I knew that YOU were so worth waiting for the Lord's perfect timing. I still can't believe He chose me to be your mommy.
I am so honored. So humbled. So thankful. So happy.
I love every moment with you. I love every thing about you- inside and out. I love that I can't imagine loving you any more than I already do, but somehow every single day I love you so much more. I pray that I will be a Godly, loving Momma to you. I hope that you know how much joy you bring to me. I hope that my life, my heart, my actions will all show you how much Jesus loves you and how faithful He is.... so that you will forever draw close to Him.
I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!
