Well, we haven't been up to too much this past month, but Brooklyn certainly has!
She's growing into a little girl so quickly and learning new things every day.
- Clothes: 9-12 months.
- I'm not sure how this happened, but all of the sudden Brooklyn quit fighting her sleep and goes down for a nap or for the night SO easily. It's wonderful! As soon as we see her rub her eyes, we take her upstairs to her room, sometimes read a book and rock, and then just lay her down (with her ducky blanket and pacy-- very important) and she rolls to her side and goes to sleep! Every once in a while she'll cry for about 10 seconds, but then she's good. And then sometimes we watch her on the video monitor quietly playing or rolling all over her crib until she finally closes her eyes. As bad as she used to fight it, I really thought she'd be at least 5 years old before that would happen.
- Naps: 2-3 per day. Bedtime is now 7:15-7:30 ish.
- Just starting to get the idea of how to hold/drink from sippy cup. Usually it's just a good toy.
- Brooklyn now has TWO TEETH! Her bottom, middle teeth just popped up. We had a few rough days, but otherwise not too bad.
- She's still not crawling, but she can definitely travel. You can be sure that you won't find her where you left her anymore :) Most of the time she can roll just about anywhere she wants to go. Nana even found her under the bed when she was supposed to be napping!
- She really likes to be helped to stand up. I've caught her a few times trying to pull up... but just can't quite get that bottom up yet.
- She's sitting up very well. And it's opened up a fun, new world for her. Now she can see how many more things are around her to play with. Bath time is especially exciting.
Still lots of babbling... mostly ba-ba-ba, and every once in a while when she sees a picture of Jason on the fridge she says ah-da, ah-da.
- Brooklyn waves bye-bye (occasionally) and LOVES to clap! She acts very proud of herself when she sees that you're excited that she's clapping. (Usually she has to have her mouth WIDE open when she claps!)
She's so my child... she has a need to be touching whoever is near her. Doesn't matter if it's her hand or her foot on you, but as long as she is somehow touching you, she's happy. When Jason and I are sitting on the couch together, she wants to be touching both of us!
- She enjoys books- looking at pictures and being read to. Likes toys that light up or play music. Loves to look in the mirror.
The park is her favorite new place. She laughs the whole time she's on the swings!
- This baby girl L.O.V.E.S. dogs!!! Her daddy has informed me that he will be getting her a dog one day. (We just haven't figured out when that "one day" will be!)
See what I mean... busy little girl!
We've had so much fun with her. Can't be thankful enough for this little blessing!
