It's that time of year again!
The Tennessee/Georgia game.
This year it was in Knoxville and we've been looking forward to that for a long time!
Jason & I and my parents got to Knoxville on Friday, and Jason gave us the grand tour of the University of Tennessee! We even got a personal guided tour through the new baseball facilities. We also saw the football facilities, "The Hill", and got to catch up with an old friend of Jason's. And then finished up Friday night stuffing ourselves with a big steak dinner at Ye Ole Steakhouse.
The baseball facilities
... which included a lot of brand new, beautiful construction... including finding Jason's name tucked in the middle of a long hallway of Letterman!
And, outside, this is the Letterman's Wall for all UT sports.
(I love that the name Kelly is printed just above Jason's!)
Jason and his friend, Tyler. Tyler was the academic coordinator for the baseball team when Jason played. He's now one of the associate athletic directors for the football team. It was so sweet for me to meet him for the first time; and to get to see Jason and Tyler catch up after so many years.
Jason quickly found this little gem above Tyler's office door... Jason and all of the seniors from his team signed it. Tyler said that was a special year and class for him...
that meant a LOT to Jason to see it hanging there.
AND THEN SATURDAY CAME!
We were able to go to the Letterman's Club ~ which is field level and this year they opened up a patio area to allow us to walk out onto the sidelines to watch pregame warm up!
It was one of the most exciting games I've EVER been to... crazy atmosphere, back and forth scoring, but in the end, the Dawgs won in overtime!
Ready for Athens next October :)
