This year it was very important to me that Jason had a good day on his birthday. That's because the past two haven't been so great.
Two years ago, Jason and I both were very sick with the flu. That year we celebrated Valentine's Day and his birthday by finally feeling good enough to go to Target and walk around just to get out of the house, and then drove-thru Long John Silver's for a "romantic" dinner on the way home!
Last year was a sad time. We were in the middle of facing a miscarriage. I don't remember him having much of a birthday at all during that time. As sad and difficult as it was, the Lord blessed our marriage and brought us even closer through it. I believe it truly strengthened our relationship.
AND, on top of everything, Jason's baseball season always starts at the beginning of February, so that means practice until late every night and very little time to make special plans.
SO... this year was GREAT. Not that we did anything so amazing and exciting, but thanks to the snow, we had a lot of time to spend together. Jason's mom and sister planned a great dinner with a lot of his family on Saturday night. More good food and fun family time on Sunday. And thanks to a Cobb County furlough day, we were able to spend all day together today on his birthday (well, minus a few hours for baseball practice).
We had pancakes for breakfast and dinner out tonight ... just the THREE of us :)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE MOST AMAZING HUSBAND! I LOVE YOU!
