I truly cannot believe it.
She seems like such a big girl!
I keep trying to think back to the day we she was born and we held her for the first time, and I just can't believe that two short years later we have this
beautiful, smart, so funny, sweet, talkative, shy, stubborn, silly daughter.
There's so much to say to try to describe who she is right now that I don't even know where to begin. But I'll try...
Here are some of our favorite "Brooklyn" things:
- weighs around 26 pounds, size 2T clothes, size 6 or 7 shoes, size 5 diapers.
- how her imagination is taking off... she loves to play "go night-night" and "I go shopping... at Target... new shoes" (wonder where she's heard that?!)... and will play "kitchen" for the longest time, cooking us eggs, cake, and coffee... hot coffee :)
- when she sings. She loves "Twinkle, Twinkle", "Jesus Loves Me", "You Are My Sunshine", and "All the Single Ladies" (she learned it from the Chipmunks movie). We LOVE to hear her sing to her sisters.
- hearing her talk to herself when she doesn't know anyone is listening.
- hearing her tell us her bible verse... "God is love. 1John 4:8". She likes to yell the 1John part for some reason :)
- can count to 20 and say most of her ABC's.
- knows her full name and all of her family's first names... and when you ask her what Daddy's other name is she says "Coach"!
- likes to jump and climb.
- horribly shy in most public... and can be a little rude because of it :) I guess it's a typical "2-year-old" thing. It takes her a good while to warm up to new people.
- she finally does really well walking into the nursery at church and at the gym without crying.
- she loves to act silly and goofy at home... runs around, dances and sings on top of the coffee table, and yells "WATCH ME!" over and over and over.
- having a hard time learning to share... (how did she learn to say "MINE"? and now feels the need to say it all the time too.)
- will come tell us when she has a dirty diaper, but then runs away so you can't change it.
- when she's being disciplined, she gives the most flippant "mm-kay" answer... pretty much telling me, "just hurry up, I really don't want to hear this"... feels like what 16 is going to be like!
- she'll do ANYTHING for a cookie.
- loves barbies, princesses, Elmo, coloring, any kind of ball game, jewelry, books, every character on Mickey Mouse, and most of all HORSES.
There's so much more... I don't want to ever forget a single thing about how she is right now... but I don't think I could ever put it all into words. Brooklyn brings more happiness and joy to us than we could ever have imagined two years ago today!
